While all sports tap into the mind, body, and soul, none do so to the same degree as climbing. Many climbers seem to focus on the physical aspects of climbing and they fail to recognize that all physical aspects originate from within. If you don’t have your mind structured for optimal performance, you won’t achieve optimal performance.
The methodology I follow begins with the mind. This is a slow process where I outline what my clients are doing right and what they could be doing better. i Then focus on understanding why they are doing these things. Once I have a clear understanding of what is happening and why it is happening, I can begin to structure a plan of attack. I target the root causes of performance limiters. Do not be suprised if This process takes some time. nothing good comes quickly.
Once a plan has been formulated and agreed upon with my client, we begin the process of implementing drills, workouts, and discussing the “what” and the “why” every step of the way. This means a large portion of our time working together will involve mentorship and conversation to sort out the mind. Logical conclusions come from asking questions and discovering the answers for yourself. My job is simply to guide. I guide with a focus on solving the root causes of my client’s performance limiters. As a matter of principle, I refuse to put bandaids over my client’s weaknesses. Working with me means working on the root causes of issues to solve them, not to work around them. We do this so that they don't affect your climbing in the future or prevent you from reaching your goals.
